Guests from Japan, the USA, Belgium, France and the United Kingdom presented their research in a joint symposium over several days.

From November 29 to December 1, 2022, the symposium "Metalloenzymes" took place in Beckmanns Hof at the Ruhr-University. In addition to professors from RUB, numerous international guests from the H2-Lab and H2M projects were invited. Japanese researchers surrounding Prof. Genji Kurisu from Osaka and Kyoto as well as the algae researcher Prof. Sabeeha Merchant from Berkeley presented their scientific work of several years and stimulated intensive discussions. The scientific program was complemented by a joint guided tour to the Zollverein coal mine in Essen.
