Dr Francesca Lupi, partner at Niemann Ingenieure GbR and project leader of an ongoing DFG transfer research project (project number 493357786) in the Building Aerodynamics Laboratory at the Institute of Structural Engineering, was honoured with the "CICIND Presidential Award" in recognition of her contributions to wind engineering research.

Her work is closely related to the CICIND Wind Committee, which she chaired, and the formulation of a model code and commentaries. CICIND, the International Committee for Industrial Design (COMITÉ INTERNATIONAL DES CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRIELLES, https://cicind.org/home.html), is a worldwide organisation based in Switzerland for technological advances and best practices in the design and construction of large structures such as chimneys, cooling towers, solar towers, silos and others.
